I started the Westward Movement in the summer of 2009. The blog has changed a lot since its inception. This is something that I have always wanted to do. Now I can say that I have accomplished what I set out to do. It has been an amazing journey. It has brought me closer to the music that I love. But, now it is time to say good bye. As of January 1st 2012, The Westward Movement will no longer exist.
Thank you to all my loyal followers, to all of the people who have been there since the beginning and to all the people who have worked with the blog through out its years.
Please don’t forget to listen.
Much Love,
-Quinn Essential (Sam Sapon)

Comet Gain is back! If you don’t know who they are, you should freshen up at their Myspace page. All their old albums are up there. For those of you who are fans, this is going to be an awesome album. Check out the song here.

It seems like every time I hear this band their sound is improving. This song is another huge leap. I cannot wait for an EP or an LP if we are lucky.

Today Daytrotter posted a new session with Grimes, check it out below:
Our First real taste of his new album, enjoy.
I have decided to turn this blog into a silent time capsule, a message to the present from the past. I keep current with music and recently I have no clue where it is headed. There is more rap by the day. I am not sure what to do. This blog has grown so quiet. It makes me sad. So, starting today I will be posting albums from past 20-30 years that are worth a listen. It is my hope that these albums will serve as a reminder of what music can be.

The first album I decided to start off with is Spacemen 3’s penultimate album, Playing With Fire. I will not say much, but to listen to this album. It is a testament to a truly great band.

Today, Prince Rama posted their latest EP on their bandcamp. This EP has a much different sound than what was heard on last year’s LP. I definently recommend listening this stunning 15 minute track. Listen to it below!
As True Panther reports: here is a blank box with the words Girls. It will eventually reveal something about the band. So.. Keep an eye on it (Think of it as a musical pet).
